  • Spermatogenesis starts at puberty; oogenesis starts in the foetus and pauses at prophase I.
  • LH surge around day 14 causes ovulation; the corpus luteum then secretes progesterone.
  • Fertilisation happens in the ampullary-isthmic junction of the fallopian tube.
  • The blastocyst implants in the uterine wall about 7 days after fertilisation.
